Is petrol included in the rate?
No. All vehicles come with a full tank of petrol and the renter is required to pay for a full re-fuel on termination of hire.
What is included in the rate?
Our rates include VAT, standard maintenance and oil.
How are rates calculated?
Rates are calculated on a 24-hour period, from depot to depot. All rates quoted are subject to change without notice.
May I extend my car rental?
We understand that sometimes you want to stay and explore South Africa longer. Extensions are permitted at the discretion of Cars4Less. However, 24-hours notice of intention is required for an extension to be considered. If you do NOT notify us in this timeframe, insurance will be terminated and a charge of unlawful possession could be made.
What about one-way car rentals?
One-way car rentals can be arranged but due notice must be given prior to initial commencement of rental. A drop-off charge is charged in such instances.
I want to explore beyond the boundaries of South Africa. How do I do this legally?
Clients must obtain a written authorization from Cars4Less should they wish to cross a state border.
How can I pay?
Payments are accepted from American Express, Diner's Club, Visa or Master Card. A minimum deposit plus the estimated cost of the car rental is required at the time of delivery of the vehicle. Any final adjustments are made on termination.
Can I pay deposit by bank transfer or cash?
Unfortunately not. Deposits are only accepted via credit card.
How does insurance work at Cars4Less?
By accepting our Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) you (the hirer) will be liable for the car group excesses per incident/accident.
However should an accident occur when the vehicle is not being driven by the hirer, or an authorized driver as nominated on the rental agreement, the hirer will be liable for the full damage to or loss of the vehicle.
Should the vehicle be damaged while being driven on gravel or dirt roads unsuitable for the vehicle, the hirer will be responsible for the full value of any damages and related charges. Any damaged tyres will be replaced at the hire's cost.
Radios are not covered by insurance.
Do I have to have the car cleaned at termination of the hire period?
No. If the car is dirty on return it will be serviced by our own valet service at a cost of R125 which will be added to your final bill.
